Percepción del clima organizacional escolar como predictor de la satisfacción y el desempeño docentes en una muestra del este de los Estados Unidos y de Bermudas

Este estudio presenta un diseño empírico, cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal, descriptivo y predictivo. Se empleó un modelo de path analysis para evaluar el efecto del liderazgo del director sobre el clima organizacional escolar, y el efecto de este último sobre la satisfacción y el desempeño docentes. La muestra, seleccionada por conveniencia, estuvo compuesta por 112 docentes del sistema educativo adventista K-12 de algunos estados del este de los EE. UU. y de Bermudas. Los resultados revelan que el liderazgo del director tiene un efecto positivo sobre el clima organizacional escolar. A su vez, este tiene un efecto positivo sobre la satisfacción docente y sobre el desempeño docente. Adicionalmente, la satisfacción docente tiene un efecto positivo sobre el desempeño docente. El modelo mostró que las variables explican el 84 % del desempeño de los docentes participantes en el estudio. Los resultados sugieren que un liderazgo directivo positivo influye favorablemente en el clima escolar, lo que, a su vez, influye en la satisfacción y el desempeño docentes. Finalmente, se resalta la importancia de fomentar un liderazgo directivo positivo para optimizar el clima laboral, la satisfacción y, en consecuencia, el desempeño del cuerpo docente.
