Influence of school climate, teaching quality, and institutional reputation on student satisfaction and loyalty in romanian high schools

Keywords: high school students, school climate, student satisfaction, institutional loyalty

Abstract

This study examines the influence of school climate, teaching quality, and institutional reputation on student satisfaction and loyalty in Adventist secondary schools in Romania. Using a quantitative ex post facto design, data were collected from 153 students and analyzed through path analysis. Results from the partial mediation model indicated that institutional reputation (β = .35), school climate (β = .33), and teaching quality (β = .26) positively predicted student satisfaction. In turn, satisfaction (β = .46) and reputation (β = .39) significantly predicted student loyalty, accounting for 63 % of its variance. The model demonstrated excellent fit indices and supported the proposed structure with partial mediation through satisfaction. Findings highlight the role of institutional values and school environment in fostering student satisfaction and loyalty. Among the predictors, institutional reputation exerted the strongest combined direct and indirect influence on loyalty.
