Predictors of student satisfaction and intention to complete middle school at Boston adult technical academy

Keywords: student satisfaction, school climate, self-efficacy

Abstract

(BATA), located in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The research had a quan- titative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, predictive approach. The popu- lation consisted of 140 students, 72 participating in the study. The statisti- cal technique of linear regression was applied to test the hypotheses. It was found that school climate and self-efficacy explained 40.3% of the variance in school satisfaction. Self-efficacy and mentoring explained 27.1% of the variance in the intention to persist in high school. In addition, a significant difference in perception of school climate was observed between working and non-working students. Student's t-test revealed that students who do not work are more satisfied with school than those who work and study.
