Action plan for the teaching and learning of romanian language and literature: qualitative legitimization of the universal learning design for secondary education

Keywords: inclusion, adaptive teaching, , universal design for learning, action plan

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to legitimize an action plan based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning (DUA), applied to the teaching of Romanian Language and Literature for fifth-grade secondary students. Developed after intensive training, the plan was designed by the research team and evaluated by five educational experts. The evaluation findings were favorable, highlighting the relevance of the content, the theoretical and pedagogical coherence and the inclusiveness of the plan, all rated as excellent. However, adaptability was identified as an area for improvement to adequately address the needs of students with more specific characteristics. The research suggests that the implementation of DUA facilitates flexible learning environments, promoting both the cognitive and emotional development of students. It concludes that a continuous improvement approach is essential to optimize adaptability and ensure more inclusive support. The study employs a phenomenological-hermeneutic methodology to legitimize the action plan with a view to implementation using Practical Action Research, which will allow for progressive adjustments and more effective adaptation in future educational settings.
