Their pedagogical practices, duly identified, facilitate the orientation of improving the quality of teaching in other educational centers with similar characteristics based on the promotion of timely and relevant learning. A basic descriptive, comparative, non-experimental design was used, with a developmental and longitudinal approach, taking advantage of the quantitative and qualitative information available duly documented. The students’ performance was measured through the results obtained in the secondary education end-of-year tests, identifying and analyzing their grades and other relevant experiences. The results were described, analyzed, and compared with national averages and the averages of students in public, private, and semi-official schools nationwide. It is established that the quality of the teaching developed in these schools is expressed in the outstanding performance of their students, who achieved grade point averages higher than the national averages and the averages of the other schools, and in the awards obtained in the national and international competitions in which they participated, even with specific weaknesses shown by the first three cohorts in mathematics and natural sciences, except for the students enrolled in at least one of the schools.
Jorge Adarberto Martínez Reyes Copyright (c) https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/357 Fri, 09 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Comparative study of emotional intelligence in elementary, middle, and high school teachers in a mexican sample to identify training needs https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/358
To identify the emotional intelligence (EI) of elementary, middle, and high school teachers in Mexico, a pilot study was conducted to assess the training needs of each group and determine which educational level presents deficiencies in terms of emotional management and socio-emotional skills, since in recent years a certain lack of motivation, a significant decrease and a clear drop in educational performance and a considerable increase in anxiety and stress have been perceived (Hernández and Palomera, 2004). Due to this problem, the TMMS-24 scale, a reduced version, was applied to 185 elementary, middle, and high school teachers to determine the emotional intelligence of each one of them. The results indicate that teachers struggle with repairing, regulating, understanding, and managing emotions. Likewise, it was observed that they are rarely able to manage, observe and distinguish emotions accurately, and then modify and evaluate them. Finally, 74.60% of women perceive themselves as inattentive to feelings and lack an adequate capacity to grasp and identify their own and other people’s emotions. With this information, it was possible to conclude that it is necessary to develop initial psychoeducational programs to provide specific initial training, particularly for the development of emotional intelligence skills, mainly with basic and higher education teachers, focusing on topics such as theoretical knowledge for the adequate management of emotions, self-regulation, and emotional repair. This study was able to provide relevant information on the management of teachers’ emotions and emotional intelligence.
Judith Molinar-Monsiváis, Salvador Quiñones-Rodríguez, Erendida Acosta-González Copyright (c) https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/358 Fri, 09 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Socioemotional intelligence as predictor of warmth in teenagers https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/359
Interpersonal warmth is a construct that, in recent years, has become more relevant in the scientific field due to the benefits it can generate in different areas of life, especially for its contribution to personal and social well-being. Therefore, identifying the factors that can promote interpersonal warmth in the early stages of life is of special significance. This work aims to analyze the predictive value of socioemotional intelligence over warm behaviors towards others as well as themselves in teenagers. The Warmth Scale and the Inventory of Socioemotional Competencies for adolescents were applied to a sample of 2013 high school students from Mexico. The results show that socioemotional skills are predictive of consideration, kindness, expressions of affection, and self-warmth. The results are discussed concerning the importance of promoting socioemotional skills to reduce risk factors in adolescence and provide a culture of coexistence in a framework of peace.
Norma Alicia Ruvalcaba Romero, Mercedes Gabriela Orozco Solís, Héctor Rubén Bravo Andrade, Alejandra Estefanía Arteaga Velázquez Copyright (c) https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/359 Fri, 09 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Psychometric design and psychometric validation of an instrument for the assessment of the level of effectiveness in the implementation of an educational model https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/360
This research aimed to propose the design and validation of a measurement scale to estimate the effectiveness level in implementing an educational model, considering the philosophical-regulatory, curricular, didactical and resources-infrastructure constructs. This study’s perspective was instrumen- tal in using a quantitative and empirical approach. The population consisted of teachers and parents from approximately 43 private schools in central and southeastern Mexico, belonging to a denomina- tional educational system. A non-probabilistic technique was used to determine the population sam- ple by convenience with inclusion criteria. For content validity, the assessment of experts in the area of the curriculum was used; and for subscale validity, an internal replicability analysis was performed with a proportional stratified segmentation for the analysis of an exploratory data set (n = 574) and a confirmatory data set (n = 574). These analyses included Cronbach's α, McDonald's ω, explorato- ry factor analysis (extraction with maximum likelihood method, fixed number of extraction factors, and Promax Kappa rotation), confirmatory factor analysis (χ2 p, CFI, TLI, SRMR, RMSEA), convergent validity measured by average variance extracted (AVE) and discriminant validity. Result. According to the statistical analysis of this study, the resulting proposed instrument with 57 items is considered a valid and reliable contribution for its application in the assessment of effectiveness in implementing a denominational educational model.
Juan Jorge Acuña Albarrán, Jair Arody del Valle López Copyright (c) https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/360 Fri, 09 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Attitude, self-efficacy and mathematical anxiety in students from spanish schools: a comparative study https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/361
Mathematics is a fundamental pillar for personal and professional development, being a valuable and necessary tool to function adequately in society. This study sought to determine if there is a difference in attitude, self-efficacy, and mathematical anxiety according to sex, musical practice, and the number of failures in mathematics in secondary school students in Spain. The research was quantitative, descriptive, and comparative. 263 students participated, who completed the Attitude Towards Mathematics Questionnaire (ATMI-SF), the Scale of Sources of Self-Efficacy in Mathematics (EFAM), and the Mathematics Anxiety Scale (EAM). The results showed a significant difference in attitude, self-efficacy, and mathematical anxiety according to sex, with a greater presence of the first two in men and the last in women. Similarly, those who play a musical instrument obtained a higher average in attitude and mathematical self-efficacy than those who do not; the latter showed a higher level of mathematical anxiety than the former. A similar result was obtained about the number of failures in mathematics; the more failures, the lower the attitude and self-efficacy, and the higher the level of mathematical anxiety. These results demonstrate significant differences in attitude, self-efficacy, and mathematical anxiety according to the students' gender, musical practice, and previous experiences of failure. In turn, they demonstrate the importance of carrying out educational interventions that address these variables in order to improve students' performance in mathematics.

Florinela Daniela Cata , Gladys Elisabeth Steger Copyright (c) https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/361 Fri, 09 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Knowledge about blockchain functionalities and level of investment interest in economics students https://riee.um.edu.mx/index.php/RIEE/article/view/362
Information is an extremely valuable resource in analyzing behavioral patterns and decision-making. Blockchain technology emerges as a significant disruption in information management, offering advantages such as process optimization and increased business competitiveness. Research highlights the importance of proper information management to foster innovation and boost profitability. In this regard, blockchain provides immediate, shared, and transparent data, stored in a distributed, immutable ledger, accessible only to authorized members. This study aims to construct and obtain content validation evidence for a scale to measure the level of knowledge and familiarity of students from the School of Economics regarding blockchain technology. Based on surveys conducted with the students, it is concluded that the validation of the scale enables the assessment of future professionals´ preparedness and the indentification of aspects of their training that can be improved.
Adriel Caballero-Grave, Fernando G.
